Based on the same categories that are included on the official exam provided by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
Welcome to the NCLEX-PN practice test on Basic Care and Comfort, a subcategory of the Client Need, Physiological Integrity. Although this is a small percentage of your NCLEX (about 10%), it covers important topics that an entry-level LPN/VN is expected to know and tasks that a new LPN/VN should be able to perform. Basic Care and Comfort includes assisting with all activities of daily living (ADL). It also includes assistive devices, mobility/immobility, non-pharmacological comfort measures, nutrition and oral hydration, and post-mortem care. This practice test has questions about client nutrition, post-operative care, client with a colostomy, nursing assessment, and post-mortem care. Begin this test at any time. You can leave any test before it’s finished; it will remind you where you left off when you return. Read each question carefully and try to think of the answer before looking at the options. If you need help, click on the Hint button that’s under the fourth option to get a sentence that serves as a reminder. Choose the BEST answer—it’s always there. When you select the correct response, you’ll automatically advance to the next question. If you make a mistake, an explanation will immediately pop up to provide the rationale for the correct answer. Make a list of questions or topics that you need to study. Each time you take a practice test, the questions and options are shuffled into a different random order. These are two proven techniques that reinforce your learning.
