Based on the same categories that are included on the official exam provided by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
Going over this test will be a great way to review your knowledge of pediatric patients. It is similar to the previous test but with a different focus. It will allow you to test your understanding of children’s developmental milestones and what happens when they are not met. How much do you know about these topics? Do you know how to treat them? This is a critical knowledge base for a nurse to have to provide the best care. You will also need to understand how to advocate for your patient’s needs and ensure that they are getting the best treatment possible. This is a complicated process as you will also need to make sure that the child’s parents are informed. This is essential when you are talking about a patient with a chronic illness that will be ongoing. The parents should understand the risks and how they can participate in ensuring their child’s health. Again, the questions on this test will go beyond your comfort zone, but it will give you an idea of the type of questions you will see on the NCLEX-RN examination.
